Take Natural Supplements

Taking natural supplements is a great way to get extra nutrition into your body to help your health. There are many supplements you can take such as turmeric for pain which you can get from most health food stores, CBD for anxiety which you can get from Area 52 and other online stores, fish oil for joint pain which you can get from supermarkets and so much more! Taking zero waste natural supplements is a great way to improve your health as well as the environment to reduce plastic waste.

Walk Instead of Drive

Not only does walking improve the environment immediately by limiting the pollution from car emissions, but it’s also great for our overall health. If more and more people walk or cycle places, there will be more need for traffic-free, green spaces which is important for the environment. By including more green spaces with plants, trees and wildlife, this will reduce the carbon dioxide in the air. On top of this, having more green spaces and less carbon emission levels is better for our overall physical and mental health.

Make Vegan and Vegetarian Choices

Research suggests that by eating a vegan diet, or making more vegan choices, is the single biggest way to reduce your environmental impact on the earth. By eating a vegetarian or vegan diet, you reduce the carbon emissions of eating a meat diet by 2.5 times. If everyone went vegan, the world’s food related emissions would drop by 70% by 2050! Also by including more of a vegan or vegetarian diet, you would naturally include a lot more fruits and vegetables which are rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fibre which would lead to a healthier lifestyle. Vegans also tend to eat more wholegrains, soy and nuts which can help your heart health.

Use Eco-Friendly Cleaning Products

Using natural, non-toxic cleaning products are a great alternative to the well-known cheap and cheerful cleaning products we all know and use. As they use fewer chemicals like ammonia, chlorine, phthalates and many more, there is often a harmful residue left on surfaces and fumes in the air. Although the products have been determined as safe, there is still a long-term risk of health issues and it’s not uncommon for a lot of people to experience reactions to the chemicals used. Using more natural cleaning products is also healthier for the environment, the chemicals commonly used in cleaning products makes its way into the waterways and soil which damages our eco-system and upsets the environments natural balance.

Use a Glass or Metal Water Bottle

By using plastic-free water bottles such as glass or metal, you reduce the amount of plastic waste which kills an estimated 1.1 million marine animals per year. Not only are they terrible for the environment, but they also aren’t great for our health either! Plastic bottles are made with a cocktail of microplastics chemicals, such as Bisphenol A, which can infuse the water and impact our health and reproduction system. By switching to glass or metal water bottles, you can reduce the amount of chemicals and microplastics you ingest and are therefore better for your health.
