Now that New Year’s resolutions to lose weight are becoming less of a habit to now more of a leisurely activity, its time get back on track. Here are some helpful tips to get you back on track!
To start, just remember why you started your resolutions. Make a list and physically write down why you want to lose weight and get healthy. Keep this list in your purse or in your car. Then text the list to a friend who will hold you accountable for your weight while motivating you to do a better job if you lack. This person may have helped you start your resolution but if you were not putting in the effort anymore then why would they? While holding yourself accountable, make an appointment to see your primary care doctor. Your Primary Care Doctor can check your weight, do a blood workup, and test your blood pressure. These are all good things to know before doing any weight loss plan or starting vitamins and supplements.
Take vitamins and supplements every day! A multivitamin is a great way to start the habit, but explore new supplement options as well. Make sure your bone health is good before working out a lot. Vitamins, minerals, amino acid, fatty acid, and fiber are wonderful things you can find in plant base or mineral based supplements as well.
Another great tip to get you back on track is to look back at old photos of yourself at the weight you did not like and remember that you never want to go back to that image. This helps you stay motivated to take your supplements, go to the gym, and eat right. Old photos are great memories of times in your life, not just how you look. Think about where you were mentally at that time and why you got to that weight. Use the photos as therapy.
Go through your refrigerator and pantry and clear out any food that is not right for you diet. Over the past few months you may have gotten back into old shopping habits and not realized it. Go through and throw things away that are not healthy, green, low, carb, high protein, or low fat. Reading labels is also very importation in getting healthy and eat healthier items.
Personal care is also part of feeling good on the inside and out. Even though getting a haircut might not help you lose weight, it will refresh your attitude and motivate you to start getting back at it. Women might want to go get a spray tan to brighten up their winter completion, or get a manicure and pedicure to feel good again. If you feel pretty you are more likely to keep going to the gym, keep up your appearance, and not lose it. Commit to being healthy on the inside and out, not only for you, but also motivate your family to follow your new healthy lifestyle.
