Ever since the disaster in Japan happened, everyone has been wondering about their possible exposure to radiation. Today I wanted to share a chart with you that will hopefully put your mind at ease. Take special notice of where being within 10 miles of the 3 mile island meltdown is on the chart in green.
So, as you can see, you are relatively safe. Your exposure to radiation from the Japan disaster is less than the exposure a women would have during her bi-annual mammogram.
Any comments after seeing this chart? Did anything surprise you ?
Thanks for sharing this. I have noticed that there is much fuzziness surrounding radiation exposure, and the metrics used to measure it– this is especially true in the mainstream media.
Thanks for pointing this out Miss T. We’ve been worried about seafood.
@SPF. Yes, many people are and that is one of the reasons why I decided to post this. I am glad you found it helpful.
I have seen this chart before, it’s a pretty cool chart! We don’t have anything to worry about right now.
@Retire by 40. Good to hear.
Thanks for sharing this chart. I’m not too terribly concerned, however I do live on the west coast so it makes me a little worried about eating Pacific caught seafood.
@ Little House. Many have been worrying about eating seafood. I am a vegetarian but I know plenty of meat eaters who have been wondering if it’s safe. Based on this chart, the seafood should be ok.
