I received a letter from a reader asking for my help in spreading the word. After reading the letter, I thought it was a great opportunity and I wanted to share the same opportunity with you. Here is her request:
Hi -My name is Meg and I am the founder of peace. love. swap. We are a one of a kind organization that not only produces ongoing kid’s clothing & gear swaps, but we also help moms start their own. Moms, getting together with other moms and exchanging their kid’s stuff- nothing is for sale- it’s all FREE for the taking- and locations are sprouting up everywhere!
It’s hard to read a newspaper, magazine or blog nowadays and not find some mention of clothing swaps – they are happening everywhere- even online. So – what makes peace. love. swap different? peace. love. swap was created by a mom – for moms. Swapping online or having a house party are both great ideas, however, most moms that try it ( and I have spoken with many ) end up with not enough stuff, stuff they don’t want, plus they have to pay shipping costs, take pictures of everything, have strangers over to their house and sometimes it’s just not what they expected. We help moms get successful ongoing (monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly) swaps started in their own communities across the country.
These events are held regularly at kid friendly venues, not online, not in someone’s home – Venues where kids can play while their moms socialize and swap. Our swaps are large – 50+ moms and dads attend our swaps (regularly!), and they are set up as if you were shopping in a store- everything is organized on clothing racks and tables. Leftover items from swaps always go to local charities and families in need. We are trying to get the word out to families everywhere, because moms and dads want and need an event like this close to home, and it’s my vision to see a peace. love. swap event going on every other month in cities everywhere. peace. love. swap is truly a win- win for everyone involved.
If you get a few minutes you can get more info, read our mission statement & see what moms are saying at: www.peaceloveswap.com. In this economic climate and in a time when recycling and keeping stuff out of landfills is so important, we need to make families aware of something so unique.
I hope you can help me get the word out to moms and dads everywhere.
peace. love. swap ~ It’s green, fun, philanthropic & catching on fast!
Thanks for your time and consideration~
