Hi everyone. This week just like last week has been crazy for me. Not only do I feel spun but I am also now starting to feel under the weather. I have not had my full reserves the last few days and it is getting me down. I don’t like the feeling of not being able to keep up and/or not having the energy to do the things I like, like working out. Apparently, they have chosen someone for my position but they won’t start until mid February which means I will be burning the candle at both ends for at least four more weeks. I am not quite sure how I am going to keep things up at work but I will find a way. I also have to spend all my Saturday this weekend interviewing for this Board I am on. I wouldn’t mind normally, but I really could use a weekend to catch my breath. There is always next weekend I guess. And then there is the blog. I am behind on commenting, posting, and responding to emails. Yikes. This is not normal for my usual productive self.
I don’t want to bring the rest of you down though. I hope you are doing ok and that your life is feeling a bit more balanced than mine these days.
I have tried to do some reading this week which I have highlighted below:

Stay encouraged as you are burning the candle at both ends the next 4 weeks! I know it’s tough to be in the middle of the onslaught and to know you’ve got several more weeks to go. But now you have a date, and you can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
Thanks for the repost! Are you an avid runner?
Good point. I am not down about the situation as much as I am down about my lack of ability to keep up. I don’t get tired you see. I am the energizer bunny and feeling like I am not is a big downer.
I used to be an avid runner. I have run marathons and half marathons. Now I cross train but I am thinking of getting back into it. Are you a runner?
Thanks so much for the mention Miss T! Sorry that you’re starting to feel under the weather. My wife just caught something this week and I have been fighting something back for the last week. I think the main culprit is lack of sleep from being busy. Try and get some rest, I know that is our main goal for this weekend.
You are right. I have been focusing on getting sleep as I have honestly been feeling weak. I hoping to keep this up until things slow down so I don’t get really sick. Hope your wife gets better soon.
Thanks for the mention!
Be careful not to bur out. Something that’s far too easily to do and this coming from someone who’s burned out more than once…
I am trying but it is hard when a lot of things wearing me out right now aren’t in my control.
Hang in there, Miss T! Take the time you need to feel as balanced as you can given everything going on–it (and we!) will all be here/there when you return
Thanks for that. I don’t like feeling like I am letting you all down.
Everyone I know in the blogosphere is just SWAMPED this January-Funny, I thought I’d get to rest this month after the holidays, but nope. I hope you feel better!
It seems like it doesn’t it. A lot of people I know are feeling just as spun as me. I don’t know why.
Miss T, I hope you feel better soon. Take some time, even 5 to be in the moment and RELAX. You sound like you need to at least get lots of sleep. Do try! Hope it calms down soon for you!
Thanks. I have been trying to be good with the sleep lately so that I can stay healthy. It has been hard finding enough hours in the day. I did get a chance to rest a bit on Friday which was good.
I am sorry to hear that you feel like that (still). I am reading this wonderful book by Stu Mittleton – Slow Burn – at the moment. It is about ultra-marathon runners (a dream of mine) but some of what is in it applies to life: he says that whenever you think that the race will never end (despair)you should remind yourself that races always do (so do hard times). You task is to be in the moment and go through one minute, one hour, one day at the time.
Thinking of you!
Thanks so much Maria. Those are comforting words. I am going to make a note to put that book on my reading list. Thanks for the support.
Hang in there Miss T! Fortunately you can see the end of the tunnel, keep that goal in mind and plow through. Hopefully it will all be over before you knew it.
If there is anything you need help with, give me a holler. I am just getting into the grove of this, I will be happy to help out.
Thanks Suba. That is so generous of you. If I can think of any blogging stuff I can get your help with I will definitely let you know.
It sounds like you need a break! Try to take a small break this weekend and do something you enjoy or you may burn yourself out!
I will try. I did make a point to have a slow morning this morning and read and have my coffee. I don’t get that during the week.
January is a long, hard month. I hope you can find some minutes of relaxation somewhere. Thanks for the mention.
It seems to be. I don’t know why it is so nutso this time. I don’t remember January being this bad last year.
Many thanks for including my post. Hope you’re feeling a little bit better. Half of my office has been sick over the past week and it doesn’t seem like anybody is really getting better, just passing the germs around.
It seems like everyone is run down these days and then once they get sick they just can’t seem to get over it. I am really hoping to fight this off and stay healthy. I can’t afford any sick days right now. I have so much to get done.
