This will be the last edition of What’s in the News. It was an experiment I was trying to get some discussion going, however, the dialouge has been pretty quiet. I hope you have enjoyed the tidbits that were shared and please stay tuned for more interesting articles on this blog.
Do Political Polls Harm Democracy or Serve the Public Interest?- Interesting question. I think polls should be conducted randomly to make sure the most objective response is gathered but it seems the politicians don’t have time to wait for these results. In other words, they are making decisions on how to run our country on subjective data.
A Menu For Food Investors- Now is the time to make some money on investing in our food supply. I am all for this; there is a good crisis. I just hope that sustainable and organic companies are the top choice so they can really get on their feet.
Think of Fiber as Dietary Life Insurance- My hubby and I work hard at getting enough fiber in our diet daily. A recent study shows that by doing this we have reduced our risk of dying by 22%. Sounds pretty awesome to me.
Should a Couple Share Financial Decisions?- This seems to be a real hot topic lately. In our house, we share all decisions, including money ones. We discuss our financial situation regularly to make sure we are on top of our goals. What do you do?
McWeddings. Want Fries With That? I Do- There is good news for those of you addicted to the golden arches. You can now have a wedding with McDonalds. Apparently there is already 70+ couples considering this for next year. To each their own I guess.
Conquering Kilimanjaro Requires Mental Stamina- It is one of my dreams to be able to climb this trek. I guess I have a lot of physical and mental training ahead of me. Have any of you had a chance to climb it? Please share your story.
In Social Networking, Don’t Get Plucked- Make sure you don’t get misrepresented online. One wrong message and serious consequences could happen. Check your security settings regularly to make sure they are as restricted as possible. Gosh, the more and more news like this comes out, I feel like I should delete my online presence. What do you think?
That concludes the What’s in the News series. Cheers and see you back tomorrow.

Is the McDonalds wedding a joke? Yes you are right, to each their own….but McDonalds wedding? seriously?
Lastly, I’d like to comment on couples sharing financial decisions. My personal answer to this is YES! 100% YES.
Money is a serious issue in let’s say pretty much every couples lives. If a couple cannot agree or make a decision together collectively regarding financial matters then you risk the chance of having your spouse upset at you, you or your spouse making the wrong decision then having to work together anyway to fix the problem that may have risen. I say work together as a team in all major decisions, not just financial.
@ Dino Thanks, I am glad to hear you have enjoyed them. Unfortunately, you have been the only one express interest. Don’t worry though, there will lots of topics posted on here that you can comment on and discuss.
I agree 100%. As a couple, you should be able to make important decisions collectively. If you can’t even agree on how you are going to spend and save your money, than what are you going to do when other big life decisions come up? In order to have a bond that lasts, you have to be in sync with each other. If you fail at making decisions together than I personally believe your relationship won’t last.
