Quote of the Week
” You can’t live your life for other people. You’ve got to do what’s right for you, even if it hurts some people you love.”- The Notebook
We have often heard phrases of similar feeling; look after you; be true to yourself. And yes it’s true. We should live our lives how we want to, no matter what anyone says or how it may make someone else feel. When it comes to money, this wisdom also applies. For example, take the situation of a family member asking to borrow money. If borrowing that money to the family member meant that you would not be able to pay your bills that month or put your budgeted savings amount away, then it would be wise for you to say no to that family member. That family member may be hurt that you didn’t help them out even if it meant that things would be tight for you. I am not saying that you can’t help out friends and family, but I am saying that you should put yours and your family needs first. Don’t let yourself be persuaded to do something that you aren’t comfortable with, especially when it comes to money.
