Hello everyone and welcome to another PEP edition. Boy am I glad it is Friday. After working all week, writing an exam, and packing to visit the inlaws, I am TIRED. Some and R&R is definitely needed. Therefore, the theme of this week’s round up is ways we can keep our energy up. I think we could use a tip or two, especially this time of year.

1. First, make sure that you get up at the same time each day. While you might be tempted to take an afternoon nap or to sleep in a little later when the opportunity presents itself, it is best to get out of bed at the same hour every day. Changing your body’s natural sleep and wake cycle can leave you feeling more tired than ever.

5 Clutter Free Ways to Give This Christmas- I have been on a downsizing unclutter kick lately so a ton of these appealed to me. I especially like the ‘experiences’ section. (@simpleorganic)
2. Another great way to maintain energy levels is by eating six small meals throughout the day. Each meal should be healthy and offer a balance of protein and carbohydrates. Consistency is also important here: you want to eat at the same times during the day to avoid fluctuations in energy levels.

3. Exercise can also do wonders for your energy. A brief walk in the afternoon revitalizes the body and increases heart rate. If you feel too tired to exercise, try listening to music or bringing a friend along to motivate you. Light to moderate daily exercise can help you sleep better, which will leave you better rested in the morning with energy to spare.
