Like many of us, there comes a time in the afternoon where you can’t keep your eyes open, you have no energy and it feels as if time is going backwards. You wonder how you are going to finish the day.
Since I often suffer from these ‘slumps’ too, I have come up with a few little tricks that seem to re-energize me and keep me going.
- Drink an 8oz. (250 ml) glass of water.
- Reach your arms above your head and stretch to touch the ceiling. Do this for 1 minute.
- Stand up and try to touch your toes. Hold that pose for 1 minute.
- If you are at work, take your eyes off your computer screen for 5 minutes; read a report, go to the bathroom, etc.
- If you have access to the outdoors, walk around your building/house once.
- If you have access to a flight of stairs, go up 2 flights and then back down.
- Do not eat anything sweet or filled with caffeine. Have a piece of fruit or a handful of nuts.
After about 15 minutes of doing the above, you should feel re-energized.
Try these tricks out…you might just have found your ‘fix.’
